Timothy P. Lofton is a graduate of Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business with an emphasis in Economics, Marketing & Finance, and a Minor in Military Service. Timothy is passionate about leadership, and his work – in business, health and wellness and military service – is a true testament of his belief in the importance of quality character and its ability to transcend various industries.
A Veteran of the United States Army Reserve, where he completed Basic Training, AIT, and Airborne School; achieving selection to attend French Commando School within a soldier exchange program; and completing the National ROTC Assessment School. From there, he was commissioned as an Officer and took command of an Infantry Unit serving for several years prior to last promotion. His expertise and skill in that position resulted in his rapid promotion to the level of Captain due to his excellence in leadership, team building and personal prowess. Timothy Lofton received numerous awards and commendations during his military service, and he was recognized as Morehead State University’s first-ever student to receive “5” ranking, a recognition given to the Top 1% of cadets nationwide.
As a Dynamic Leader, Top Performer and Ambitious Self-Starter, Tim has taken his passion for excellence from the military to the corporate world to the realm of health and wellness and athletics. A lover of exercise, Timothy Lofton has completed multiple Ironman Triathlons, Marathons, and one, 50 mile Ultra Marathon. The Ironman triathlon is, according to many, one of the most grueling competitions in the world, involving a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. In fact, popular Ironman triathlete speaks of the feat as “a whole-body smash fest,” and one that “takes about 10 days to recover.” In addition to his participation in grueling marathons and epic races, Timothy is also an avid tennis player.
Somehow, Timothy P. Lofton manages not only to focus on his health but complete races and exercises requiring extreme conditioning, all the while working as a professional in finance and business. Tim is the Founding Partner and COO at The Cornerstone Group, a faith-based consulting group dedicated to providing insightful advisement and superior service for industry=leading, financially oriented clients.
Prior to his work at The Cornerstone Group, Timothy Lofton was Senior Vice President for Morgan Stanley (2009-2014), and Senior Vice President for UBS (2003-2009). Before that, Timothy was Partner for Edward Jones. Mission-driven about continuing his education, Timothy attended Wright State University for further professional development, completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Curriculum, and is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) at the College of Financial Planning.
